Wizard Within Invited to 2026 MBBY Honour List
On the 13th of December 2025, our illustrators, Jessica, Yi Pei, and Qiu Xuen were invited to the MBBY Honour List 2026 Certificate Presentation Ceremony to receive an award commemorating the entry of “Look Daddy Look”, “Brave Katie and the Great Luggage Escape”, “Who is Sleepy?”, “Brave Katie and the Great Ocean Adventure”, and “Knockety-Knockety Knock! Who’s behind the door?” in the 2026 MBBY Honour List!
The prestigious event took place at Mayor’s Courtyard, Jalan Tangsi and aimed to celebrate local authors, illustrators, translators, and publishers, and simultaneously highlight promising titles for international engagement.
The certificates were presented by Dato’ Ahmad Redza Ahmad Khairuddin, President of the Malaysian Board on Books for Young People (MBBY).
Our books were among the 50 titles chosen for the MBBY Honour List, evaluated based on literary, visual, and cultural merit. The addition marks exciting opportunities as shortlisted titles exhibit excellence in our local children’s publishing scene and places our homegrown titles on the forefront of international rights negotiation, opening up the conversation on Malaysian work to global audiences.
The Wizard Within team would like to extend our greatest gratitude to MBBY for this nomination and we hope that the Malaysian children’s literary scene continues to flourish with talented writers and illustrators for the sake of our bright, young audiences.
