Chinese New Year is almost here! What are some fun, festive activities you can do with your children this holiday season?
Visit the Huuu-art! Market at Dataran Merdeka on 18 January 2020!
This Chinese New Year carnival features food trucks, traditional arts and crafts for sale and music and dance performances. If your kids like arts and crafts, they can visit the Wizard Within booth and make their own lucky fish at our workshop. We’re also giving out free ang pao.
See a lion dance or dragon dance
Go to Central Market Kuala Lumpur and watch a lion dance on 24 January at 11am and 1 February at 12pm. On February 8 at 1pm, see the Dragon Dance and God of Prosperity Walkabout. Kids enjoy seeing the colourful costumes and taking in the exciting atmosphere.
Make Chinese New Year crafts at DIY workshops
EkoCheras mall is hosting a series of DIY workshops. On 23-24 January from 4-6pm, the craft is a DIY Auspicious Chinese New Year Display Plate. On 25-26 January from 4-6pm, there’s a Paper Bag Lion Dance Workshop, and on 1-2 February from 4-6pm, children can make a DIY Clay Mandarin Oranges Pot.
