Children’s Picture Book Illustration Workshop
On the 11th of July 2025, our illustrators, Jessica and Yi Pei attended a Children’s Picture Book Illustration Workshop at Pustaka Raja Tun Uda. The seminar was hosted by the Malaysia’s Board on Books for Young People (MBBY) and Selangor Library (PPAS).
Our illustrators were amongst the thirty-five published illustrators present as they discussed storytelling, design, and challenges as author-illustrators. All participants were also asked to envision and draw out their insights from the discussion and how it can transform into a story.

National Children’s Book Illustration Conference
The following day, our Producer, Pei Yen sat in for the National Children’s Book Illustration Conference.
Professor Dr. Muliyadi Mahamood from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) delivered a speech regarding how tradition seeps into contemporary illustration. Following that, Professor Dr. Md Sidin Ahmad Ishak, the Vice President of MBBY, shared notable award-winning children’s books from local names to global authors.
We are honoured to receive a shout-out for our Brave Katie series as one of the award-winning titles!

Illustrating Malaysian Stories: Identity and Imagination Forum
Lastly, a forum was also held where the panel discussed “Illustrating Malaysian Stories: Identity and Imagination”. The panel consisted of esteemed illustrators and professors.
MBBY and PPAS also invited Wizard Within to have a booth showcasing our products. Our fairy interns, Lila and Yi Wen got the chance to introduce our stories to customers and stakeholders and Pei Yen even conducted a mini story-telling session!
